Delta Omega, Texas A&M

I could sit here and give you another history lesson about when my chapter was chartered (1979) and what obstacles we’ve overcome to get where we are now. But I’m not trying to put you to sleep.

From the first time I stepped foot into Pi Kappa Phi as an associate member, I knew I had found an elite group of men. The history we absorbed about our fraternity filled me with pride and enthusiasm to get involved nationally as well as lead locally. Each member of my chapter is different than the next—a much needed refresher from many other fraternities I see from across the country filled with carbon copies of each other. However, we are bound by the common ideals of building better men, ultimate respect, scholarship and service. With such diverse men, we have the ability to draw on so many different talents that make even the largest events a managerial coast. With members that are business majors to biomedical engineers, there are no boundaries to what can be accomplished.

With 67 men, it is reassuring that I am part of a fraternity that is more concerned with merit than just numbers. While 67 is not by any measure a small chapter, it is more important that we find men that will be dedicated to the fraternity for a lifetime than finding men that will lazily pay dues and go to a date party. With a major understanding of lifelong brotherhood, I know that in 20, 30, even 40 years I will have my brothers to call upon in a time of need…or even for an alumni golf scramble.

Here at Texas A&M, the Delta Omega Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi prides itself in being a dominant force in Greek life. Founded in 1979, our members have extended their influence into organizations such as Greek Ambassadors, the Student Advisory Board, the Sports Management Association, the Society of Petroleum Engineers, and the Order of Omega. We truly pride ourselves in becoming involved on campus, improving Greek Life for everyone, and specifically building better men; within ourselves as well as others.
