Donate Some Gear
If you’ve ever cycled, you know that supplies and preparation are equally important for a long ride. If you haven’t, it’s kind of like camping with everything you need on a couple of aluminum tubes. I am currently working as many hours as I have in my schedule to pay for what my part-time job will allow—I’ve even gone home a few times to make an extra buck. As I truly believe, it is critical to gain a balance between work, school, and fraternity. To have that balance, I need your help with my ride with the Journey of Hope in other ways, if possible. Over the course of the next few months I will need certain supplies to train and prepare; then the grueling process (more for my wallet) of getting to the starting line begins. If you are interested at all in donating to my personal expenses fund or have any of the following items that you are willing to lend to my ride (I’m in college, I care not if they are used or new), I have compiled the following list from the provided Journey of Hope team member manual, of things I still need:
• Plane Ticket to San Francisco, CA
• Plane ticket from Washington, DC
• CO2 cartridges
• Frame pump
• Patch kit
• 10 Bike Tubes
• 1 extra set of tires
• Camelback
• Bike rags
• Tri Flow or other lubricant
• Spoke wrench
• Tights or leg warmers
• Thermal long sleeve shirt
If you would like to donate any of this gear, please email me at MTProctor@neo.tamu.edu.
